The score on the final clock didn't look bad at only 10 points but the game was anything but lovely for the Cougs who were playing catch up from the opening drive. Two picks on the first two possessions and a fumble in the redzone summed up the game. The Cougs did tie it at sevens on a pick six but BYU gave up big plays all night long (49, 65, 37 and 61 yard TD's).
Coach TSTEP "You get close and give up a big play all night - it's frustrating. We give up a turnover before half down seven, they get a field goal and the ball and score on a 61 yard run - you make those mistakes and you don't win....a seven point game turns into 17 in the bat of an eye."
The Knights held off a pesky BYU team that has showed other opponents problems so far this season.
The Knights got off to a great start in this game, establishing their run game and the line of scrimmage, however BYU pushed back.
"We forced some turnovers and that was the difference, otherwise that O-Line and running game was going to give us issues" said Coach RB.
BYU ran all over the Knights in the second half after throwing 4 INTs in the first.
KJ Jefferson finally had a quality came as he has struggled immensely throwing the football this season. UCF improves to 6-2 and still has it's sights set on Big 12 conference dreams.
