Sparty came into the Big House with high hopes and both teams got off to great starts on offense.
Michigan came out strong behind their stud running back Edwards who was tearing the Spartan defense up early. Scoring on a long sustained drive up 3:06. Capping it with an 8 yards pass from Orji to Loveland.
Sparty came right back thought and scored on their first Offensive snap on a 75 yard catch and run by their outstanding TE Velling.
The Spartan D then stuffed a few Edwards runs and forced a big Punt. They were moving the ball down the field and got the ball into the redzone, where they have struggled mighty this season. Chiles did not disappoint again today throwing a pick on the 13 to Hausmann.
The two teams then exchanged punts and Michigan finally Broke through the Spartan D for a FG and a great two minute drive leaving the Spartans :38 seconds left in the quarter.
Chiles came to play though connecting on a close sideline pass with Velling for 25 yards and then hitting Brown on a Slant to the house for a 50 yard TD.
Alas neither team that was about it for the Spartan offense today. But their Defense had two amazing stands to keep hope alive.
They stuffed Michigan on a 4th and Goal from the one and again on a 4th and 1 with under a minute to play.
After the dust settled Sparty had a similar fate to a lot of their games this season lossing a close one to a great coach!

The Wolverines and Spartans renewed their rivalry last week as the Wolverines pull out a close one by shutting down the Michigan State Offense on their final drive with a minute left in the game. The Wolverines opened the scoring with a Loveland siting in the end zone on an 8 yard corner route.
The Spartans answered immediately on a 75 yard catch and run by Tight End Velling to bring the game to a 7-7 tie. The Wolverines were able to tack on 10 points in the second quarter (Semaj Morgan TD, and a Zvada 37 yard FG). Michigan State drove down the field within under a minute to go in the 2nd quarter and brought the game within 3 points with a TD from Alante Brown.
In the second half both defenses stepped up to allow 0 points and Spartans Defense stuffed the Wolverines and Edwards on 4th and 1 at Michigan States 19 yards line, to get the ball back with under a minute to go.
The Wolverines Defense didn't break and held their own to close out the game.
