Georgia Tech fell to Virginia Tech in week 9 with a final score of 19-7. Despite getting an early 7-0 lead, the Yellow Jackets failed to capitalize on opportunities throughout the game.
The offensive line struggled mightily against the Hokie rush, forcing inaccurate passes and shutting down the rushing game from the start. Jamal Haynes was held to just 50 yards on 14 attempts, fumbling once on a crucial second quarter drive, as nothing seemed to be going right for the Georgia Tech faithful.
The Georgia Tech administration has designated private security for Aidan Birr, citing intense cyber-bullying after missing 19-yard field goals in back-to-back games. Critics hit back, criticizing unnecessary spending and suggesting that Birr should just log off and quit football forever.

Virginia Tech brought home the Tecmo Bowl victory in the rivalry game against Georgia Tech in Blacksburg. Finally VT put together a complete game on offense defense and special teams as they won 19-7 behind strong D a great rushing game and a couple field goals. VT fell behind 7-0 in the first quarter but would give the offense time to get going as they pitched a shutout the rest of the way. It feels great to get that first ACC win the Hokies have now won 2 of their last 3 and will take on Syracuse in week 10.
