The Hokies finally were not in a close game as they were able to go into Syracuse and pick up the road victory to even their ACC record at 2-2. Big plays were the name of the game as VT had 3 touchdowns of over 75 yards including 2 93 yard touchdowns. The defense also did its part as the only touchdown they allowed was on a 75 yard speed option that was kept by the Cuse QB. The orange would not find the end zone again as they were held to 4 more field goals to get their score up to 19. Overall great game and Coach Neal was very happy to get back to .500 in conference play.
It sounds like Syracuse is going through a significant transition after a tough loss to Virginia Tech. Firing the offensive coordinator is a bold move, indicating that the program is looking for a major change to turn things around. Coach Neal's defensive game plan seems to have worked well for most of the game, but the late turnovers and desperation plays by Syracuse's offense cost them.
Coach TexaNole now faces the critical task of revitalizing the program. With the pressure on, he’ll need to address both offensive and defensive strategies, possibly make adjustments to the coaching staff, and find ways to inspire the team. Success in the coming games will be crucial for his future with the team. It’s a challenging position to be in, but it’s also an opportunity to make a significant impact and turn the season around.
