The Wolverines dropped out of the Top 25 after a loss to Illinois and turned their focus to jumping back into the ranking with a possible win over #19 visiting Ducks. Knowing it's win or go home, Michigan did just that with a 31-24 win over Oregon. This game will be known for the eye sore of Uniforms as Michigan attempted to bring out their all Maize uniforms.
The Wolverines Defense was get to the quarterback 4 times and able to force 3 interceptions. Mason Graham led the defense in tackles with 4 and sacks with 2. They were able to limit the high speed Oregon Offense to 245 yards of total offense (174 passing, 71 rushing).
Michigan's Offense caught a lot of breaks as the Ducks defense dropped about 5 interceptions on Orji's 26 passing attempts. Orji threw for 236 yards, 1 TD (1 Rushing TD) and 1 Int, 40% of his yards came on a 84 yard screen to Fredrick Morris. Donovan Edwards led the ground game with 123 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Ducks came into Ann Arbor looking to get out of its mid-season slump and looked like they were going to pull out a big win on the road. In a very competitive battle though where Oregon led 13-10 at the half, the Wolverines clawed back in with a touchdown in the third to go up 17-16.
Oregon answered with a touchdown and a two-point conversion to go up 24-17, before Michigan tied the game at 24-24. The Ducks, facing a hostile home crowd, would throw a costly interception that was returned for a pick six and the eventual winning score.
Oregon finished the game with one of its lowest offensive productions of the season, with just 263 total yards in the game.
