Owen McCown threw 5 picks, the UTSA offense only managed a field goal, and the Roadrunners fell to the Memphis Tigers 24-3 Monday night. McCown now leads the league with 30 interceptions on the season.
RB Kevorian Barnes passed the 100-yard mark again but his QB kept throwing the ball to the other team inside the redzone. The only bright spot of the day was the UTSA defense holding league 2nd-place rusher Mario Anderson to under 100 yards on the day. Anderson had been averaging over 160 yards per game.
Memphis now sits alone atop the AAC, wondering when the pollsters will show him some love. Undefeated in conference play and boasting a 7-2 record, it's only a matter of time the Tigers find themselves in the Top 25.
Memphis improved to 7-2 (5-0) as they defeated UTSA 24-3.
UTSA controlled things in this one but the Tigers Davion Ross came up big with 2 interceptions for touchdowns. The Memphis defense would also add 3 more interceptions on the night.
The Tigers sputtered on offense but managed to do just enough in order to get the win.
"Ross stepped up for us " Said Coach Red afterwards " We know that UTSA is a well coached team , we were out of sync offensively, luckily Ross and the rest of defense bailed us out"
GG Untouchable, get that passing game down and you are going to be a force once again !
