After 2 Postponements, Tulsa Beats UAB

Article By: MarionCounty

Despite postponements due to the UAB coaches internet connection, the third time was a charm for Tulsa. Tulsa beat the UAB Blazers 49-14 in Birmingham.

Momentum was the day's storyline as Tulsa went 99 yards on their first drive after a UAB punt had pinned them at the 1. Backup RB Bill Jackson took a Power play 87 yards to the house and set the tone for the day. Tulsa racked up 265 yards rushing with both Jackson and Stud RB Anthony Watkins both eclipsing the 100-yard mark. Watkins added 53 yards in the air and totaled over 200 yards of total offense.

An early pick had CoachCounty worried that the turnover woes that occasionally plague QB Cardell Williams would reappear. However, that was not the case. That pick would be one of only 3 incompletions on the day as Williams would finish 14/17 for 199 and 3 TDs.

The defense has stepped to the plate the last 2 games allowing a combined 21 points and forcing 3 INTs on the day.

Tulsa has a bye week in week 11 and a visit by the ECU Pirates in week 12. The Golden Hurricane are now 5-4 on the season, 1 win away from bowl eligibility, and 4-1 in conference with their only loss being a 3 PT loss to Temple.

3rd Game is a charm for Tulsa

Article By: JustGiver31

UAB was haunted by some internet isssues, after leading in game 2 in the 4th qtr UABs internet disconnected for the 2nd time and Coach Giver decided that is only fair to play another one and boy did Tulsa take advantage. Tulsa dominated game 3 and some how feels like Karma took over. We will just take this defeat and move onto see if we can become bowl eligible. We have failed to meet our win goal so UAB has nothing to lose and will try and hurt some feelings and becoming bowl eligible.
