The first half of the game ended in a 7 to 7 tie, but the Bobcats came out in the 2nd half with adjustments on offense and were able to put together a 13 play driver resulting in a 2 yard touchdown run by Mahid. Mahdi was held in check in the first half, but exploded with an 80 yard run in the 4th quarter to seal the game for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats improve to above .500 and are hoping to finish the season strong to become bowl eligible under first year Coach.
In a Sun Belt Conference matchup, Texas State got the best of ULM 31-14. Hunter Herring had 5 INT's in the game. The game stayed close through 3 quarters in which the score was 14-14. Texas State was just too much in the 4th quarter and ULM playing from behind was forcing too many passes. A breakout run by the Texas St running back sealed the deal and the rest was history. Coach Taruncheel was found after the game and he said, "This was a close game for 3 quarters. Too bad we had to play a 4th. Hunter (Herring) needs to make the reads and not force the ball. Our O-line needs to give him time to see the receivers and make the right pass. Defensively, we played well for most of the game. We could not force a turnover, but we did stop some drives. We have 2 more games left in this season and we need to make them count."
