In a high-scoring clash, USF fell to Tulsa with a final score of 73-57, despite a remarkable yet mistake ridden performance from their quarterback, who threw for an impressive 457 yards and connected for four touchdown passes. However, his efforts were marred by inconsistency, as he also threw four costly interceptions and fumbled three times (losing one for a scoop and score at a crucial point in the game), contributing to the team's struggles. Tulsa capitalized on USF's mistakes and showcased their offensive firepower, ultimately sealing a dominant victory in this wild shootout.

C.J. Turner forces a fumble and returrns it for 6 in the 4th quarter!

Tulsa Beats USF in Wild Shootout!

Article By: MarionCounty

With next week's game against FAU resulting in a forfeit win for Tulsa, the Golden Hurricane finished their Season 1 campaign with a 73-57 win in Tampa against the USF Bulls.

A 192-yard performance on the ground by Anthony Watkins led the offense while TE Ethan Hall hauled in 2 TD receptions on the day.

The game was a stalemate until the first play of the 4th quarter when Cardell Williams hit Kamdyn Benjamin for a wide-open 51-yard score.

The Golden Hurricane defense got torched for over 600 yards of total offense but they did force 6 total turnovers with 2 being returned for TDs. A trifecta, forced fumble, fumble recovery, and score by C.J. Turner was the deciding factor in what was described as Tulsa's most entertaining game of the season.

This win pushed the Golden Hurrican to 7-4 (6-1), and next week's forfeit win gives Tulsa 8 wins on the season, Coach County awaits to see where they will go bowling. After a tumultuous start to the season, Tulsa finished their season 7-1, with their only loss being a complete meltdown 3-point loss against conference championship representative Temple.
