Murfreesboro, TN (AP) - In what has been a season of fireworks and inconsistency, the host Blue Raiders fell short of getting their 8th W of the year, losing to the visiting Aggies of NMST 30-28.
The MTSU offense was rolling on all cylinders per usual, but their defense let them down today, not being able to get off of the field on huge 3rd down stops, as well as allowing the visitors to gain big yards on first down runs.
MTSU had a chance at the end of the game to tie it up after some bizarre clock management by the aggies, who tried a FG in lieu of running out the clock to end the game. MTSU got it into field goal range and attempted a 55 yard FG but the ball hit the cross bar causing the team to all collapse and keel over in disappointment.
Player of the game was star TE Holden Willis who had 11 receptions for over 200 yards and 3 TD's on the day, bringing his total to 19 on the season.
GG Stan the man, good luck next season.
Was Oldschoola trying to throw the game or cover point spread?
While game seemed to be going NMSU way by dominating on defense and the way they were able move the ball.
They seemed to want to give the ball away the last 3 min of the game. Allowing the Blue Raiders to make a huge comeback. Oldschoola made some odd and scary calls that could have cost him the game.
Stay tuned for information about the on going probe.
