LSU Destroys Vandy in Baton Rougue

Article By: texasfan4444

In a commanding display of football prowess, the LSU Tigers routed the Vanderbilt Commodores with a dominant 42-7 victory on Saturday. LSU wasted no time establishing control, leaping to a 21-point lead in the first quarter. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier connected with Zavion Thomas for a touchdown pass, while running back Josh Williams contributed two rushing touchdowns. The Tigers' offensive onslaught seemed relentless as they showcased their explosive playmaking abilities early in the game.

Vanderbilt briefly narrowed the deficit to 21-7 with a touchdown pass from Nate Johnson to Loic Fouonji. However, any hopes of a Commodore comeback were dashed when LSU's special teams unit returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown, further widening the gap. The Tigers continued to dominate, with wide receiver CJ Daniels sealing the game with two impressive touchdown receptions, covering 28 and 73 yards, respectively. The victory underscores LSU's formidable performance and sets a high bar for their future matchups.

Fighting Tigers Defense Manhandle Vandy

Article By: bucknut333

LSU faced Vanderbilt this past Saturday for the penultimate SEC Conference game at home in the Swamp and took care of business. This LSU defense has been lights out at home all season and did not take the bait of the rumblings of a trap game from certain podcast pundits. The Tiger D forced 5 INTs, 3 of them attributed to FS Gilbert. The star LB duo of Penn and Perk continued their domination as they totaled for 23 tackles, 1 INT, and 1 FF. Nussmeier and Co. held their own on offense as he went an efficient 9/11 for 250 yds and 3 TDs while RB Williams averaged 11.6 ypc to get 2 TDs himself.

LSU will face Oklahoma at home for their final game of the season. The SEC Conference Championship is out of the picture, but the CFP has the Tigers sitting solidly in the playoff picture. They will need to win out to feel safe with their spot and hope for a home playoff game in The Swamp.
