After a defensive 3 and out stop The Texas offense made quick work to get on the board.
After 3 straight runs to RB CJ Baxter for 17 total yards, the offense completed a jet sweep to isaiah bond for 58 yards and a touchdown.
On the Aggies Second drive, the run game came to life getting the aggies down to the Longhorns 26. But, Texas db's held strong deflecting passes on both 2nd and 3rd down leading to An Aggie FG making it 7-3.
After the first offensive drive ; Texas leaned to their passing attack going on a 6 play 85 yard drive capped by a 5 yard pass from Quinn Ewers to Jayon Blue making it 14-3.
On 1st and 10 the play of the game occured as Aggie QB Conner Weigman seemed to have a WR open on an out route to the sideline But Gavin Holmes made an incredible play stepping in for an INT turning the ball over to Texas at the Aggie 35 Yard line.
Texas would score on a 5 play drive making it 21-3.
After another Aggie Drive was held to a FG, Which they missed , Texas had 3 minutes before halftime to potentially put the game out of reach.
With some brilliant decisions by Quinn Ewers and some strong Runs from CJ Baxter, Texas again found themselves in the endzone at half making it 28-6.
In the 2nd half, The Aggie would struggle to muster a come back as QB Conner Weigman was just 9 for 19 for 119 yards and 2 INTS, RB Le'Veon Moss was effective 84 yards on 13 carries but the early point differential forced the Aggies to turn away from the run at times.
Texas QB Quinn Ewers was strong most the game 22-27 373 yards 3 touchdowns and 2 ints.
WR Isaiah Bond was the biggest support for Ewers on 4 receptions 118 yards and a touchdown.
Coach Z expressed some bitter sweetness after the game. "This was a great win in this rivalry, i am proud of our guys finishing the season strong. I thank the Texas Football community for taking me in and embracing me throughout this season despite our poor performance. I dont know what the future holds for me but im going to hold my head high and be ready for what the future holds"
