Bulldogs grab first road win

Article By: dcane7

In their first game away from Athens, the Bulldogs traveled to face Coach SnealShiesty and the FIU Panthers. Georgia came out firing putting up 42 points in the first half to go into the half 42-7. UGA took our their stars at half with the lead as QB Carson Beck went 10 for 11 for 134 yards and 2 TD's on the day and he was supported by his talented HB Trevor Etienne who rushed for 180 yards on 12 attempts with 3 rushing TD's. That was all before half-time and then the duo took a seat and the Bulldogs defense held it down. Both sides were very impressive with their performance and they will need to keep this energy as the next two weeks they find themselves on the road. "FIU played solid ball and they have a nice ground game in that program. I'm looking forward to see what Coach Shiesty does with the Panthers this season." said Coach Cane after the game. Tune in next week as the Bulldogs had over to UK to face off with the Wildcats in week 3.

FIU set to welcome UGA

Call Off The Dawgs!

Article By: SnealShiesty

Week 2 of the season kicked off as UGA traveled to South Beach to take on the Florida International Panthers. As expected the Bulldogs were too much to handle for FIU. Georgia jumped all over FIU early and often to take a large lead into halftime. It wasn't until most of the starters were on the sideline that FIU saw a little bit of success moving the ball with their run game. Most people viewed this as another tune up game for UGA but first year HC SnealShiesty was excited at the opportunity to host Georgia and expected his team to get after it no matter how tall of a task it was. "Obviously that's a well coached ball team and arguably the most talented team in the country and we didn't get the job done today but I know we got better." "We want to compete at a high level and iron sharpens iron, so I expect to see this team grow from this loss today." Coach Shiesty and his FIU Panthers didn't accomplish the upset today but they have a lot to look forward to in their conference play the rest of the season. They take on in-state rival FAU week 3 before going into a bye week.
