The Louisville Cardinals at the Illinois Fighting Illini became a shootout of epic proportions. Shrough for the cards went 32/47 with 4 TDs and 1 INT. Chaney continued to dominate on the ground, going for 113 yards and 1 TD on 16 attempts. Chaney also did well catching the ball, gaining 72 receiving yards on 6 receptions.
Brooks and Lacy were Shrough's favorite targets, with Brooks gaining 147 yards and 2 TDs and Lacy gaining 144 yards and 1 TD.
Although they struggled throughout the game, the Louisville Defensive provided a turnover when it mattered most, with DB Riley gaining the game-securing INT.
Illini QB Luke Altemyer threw for 6 TDs and 468 yards, but it was not enough to outscore the Louisville Cardinals as the defense faltered in a 45-42 loss at home.
The game was a shootout, with neither team playing a bunch of defense, but the Cardinals were able to slow down the Illini running game and got a stop when they needed it. The Cardinals QB Tyler Shough was able to find open receivers almost every play and kept the Illinois defense on its heels.
Next up for Illinois is a trip to Happy Valley and a B10 clash with Penn State.
