Columbia, Missouri - The Missouri Tigers opened the season in impressive fashion, defeating the Golden Gophers of Minnesota 45-13. Quarterback Brady Cook quickly established a connection with star wide receiver Luther Burden III to the tune of 7 receptions for 171 and 4 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the football the Tigers were able to keep the Minnesota offense under wraps forcing 4 interceptions on the day. “We came out and executed well on both sides of the ball,” said coach McDonagh following the game. “We still have some kinks to work out and hopefully we managed to fix them before next week.” The Tigers now prepare for a week 2 match-up against the Miami Hurricanes which should make for an exciting contest.
