UGA traveled to Ohio to face off against the Falcons of Bowling Green. The Dawgs knew that Coach Vegas was not someone to take lightly and they played with that respect to the coach. First play of the game we find MLB C.J. Allen light up HB Terion Stewart causing a fumble and giving the Bulldogs the ball and great field position. The Bulldogs rushing attack remains a dominate force with a total of 420 yards on the ground. Lead by HB Trevor Etienne with 380 yards on 21 touches and 6 TDs before coming out of the game. When asked about the offenses success this is what Coach Cane had to say "Our offense has one goal and that is to control the flow of the game. But we are blessed with many talented players who could at anytime make a big play. Trevor had 5 20+ yard runs in this game, so to say that he carried the team on his back today would be an understatement." The Bulldogs still have to get ready for UK and their WR with blazing speed. It's going to be interesting to see what UGA comes up with for that week. Coach Vegas played a solid game and keeps you guessing on def. Looking to see him do big things in his conference.
With 1 game in block 2 of the NDL season, BGSU was excited to invite the Georgia Bulldogs to Doyt-Perry Stadium. Ready to chomp at the chance to take a bite out of the the top ranked Dawgs, it was the first play of the game that reminded the Falcons that they were not ready. On the first play RB Terion Stewart was hit-sticked in the hole and coughed it up, giving the Dawgs tremendous field position. (This marks the 3rd straight game to start the season that the Falcons have fumbled on their opening drive of their games). UGA RB Trevor Etienne took the first play to the house, and even though the Falcons quickly tied the game, UGA continued to feed ETN, and just pancaked the BGSU front 7 into submission (28 total pancakes).
Ultimately despite some great effort from BGSU, there was just not enough talent on the field to deal with the dominant run game and consistent play calling of the Dawgs. Cane called a great game and unless he was willing to take risks, he was going to be able to do what he wanted at will.
UGA played a great game, and BGSU looks forward to get into MAC-tion starting in block 3, and learn from this humbling experiences.
