All throughout training camp, Houston Cougar senior QB has heard the whispers, would it ever click? When would the light bulb come on? As coach Rags said earlier in the week if he didn't begin to grasp the system and get his act together he wasn't above getting benched. "We're just taking it day by day, the good, lots of bad and ultimately for us to be successful and the run and shoot to soar the reads have to be right and honestly, they haven't been when Donovan's been in there."
The evening contest began inauspicious enough as the Coogs received the ball first, only to have Smith s first pass picked off and returned for an untimely pick-6. Or was it timely? Throughout the game, the reads were right, the run was running roughshod and the Houston Cougars won one on the road 56-42 over the Tulane Green Wave. Now if your grading the defense, well... why ruin a warm, feel good story.
Mistake after mistake et again today does no good for the Green Wave. Tulane got an ole fashion butt kicking' by the Houston Cougars.
Nothing seems to be going right for the Green Wave. They seem to be falling apart and don't look to be consistent. Houston played a solid games on both sides and it showed.
Another game lost in one quarter. they keep seeming to have the mental lapses in 1 quarter and cant seem to show up for four quarters. If this trend continues Tulane is going to be in big trouble.
Next up for the Green Wave is the Cal Bears. Can the Wave string four solid quarters of football or will they wilt away in a quarter. Time will tell and we will see.
