In a Battle of Early season top teams, The Clemson Tigers Defeated The Texas Longhorns 38-33.
The game was back and forth throughout with the end of the game not leaving the casual fan disappointed.
With 4 minutes left in the game Texas found themselves down 26-21 with the ball.
From this point forward both teams scored 2 td's in less than 3.5 minutes with Clemson's final score a 75 yard pass to Antonio Williams from Cade Klubnik that put up the Tigers 38-33 making for the last lead change of this epic battle.
Texas tried to put one more twist into the game but Quinn Ewers was intercepted and that was that.
The Longhorns are reeling after 2 early season losses to two solid foes ... The questions have started to be asked, Can BigZZ manage a bigtime program ...
Clemson quickly dug themselves a hole with a pick six on the third play of the game. Coach Ry, had a quick chat with Klubnik and sent him back out to do his job. From then on he played quite well. Clemson worked their way down the field leading to a Mafah touchdown run from the goal line. However, Texas managed to grab the momentum and the lead in a up and down 2nd quarter.
But, Clemson was able to keep it close thanks to their defense who caused four turnovers over the course of the game.
The Tigers came out the tunnel more focused and thankful they were still in the game. Clemson's defense stopped Texas on their first second half drive but the offense unable to capitalize.
Clemson's defense continued to step up giving Clemson the opportunity to take a 26-21 4th quarter lead. Once the clock was under four minutes the game became a track meet. Texas appeared to have the win with a 33-31 lead with a minute remaining. Clemson struck quickly on a 75 yard catch and run leading to pandamonium on the sidelines. Great game and thanks for playing.
