Miami came into their last out of conference game hoping to get another W. They would come out firing as they would go on a 11 play 75 yard drive that would be capped with a Damien Martinez 14 yard rushing touchdown. Oklahoma St would answer right back though. Ollie Gordon would break a 49 yard TD to bring the score to 7-6, due to a missed extra point. The second quarter would start with Oklahoma St throwing one of their first interceptions of the game. Wesley Bissainthe would run it back 42 yards to setup the Miami offense. Martinez would punch it in for his second TD and a 14-6 lead. Oklahoma St would tack on a FG and that would be the score, 14-9 at the half. "Our defense played really tough tonight," said Coach Dealer, "we stopped them on some big plays when they were in the redzone or held them to a FG."
The third quarter would have no scoring, but it would be part of a 16 play drive that the Canes would punctuate with a 2 yard TD pass from Cam Ward to Xavier Restrepo to make it 21-9. The defense would then get in on the scoring on the next OK State possesion as Dyoni Hill would pick off a pass and take it 42 yards for a score and the 28-9. That would be the final score of the game. "We played a great a second half and I'm very proud of how they showed up today. Now we just need to keep this momentum going as we have Louisville up next week," said Dealer.
