In a game Mississippi State trailed after 1 they were able to make enough happen in the second half to pull away from the pestering Huskies. After a impressive Bulldog debut in their season opener Blake Shapen showed signs of nerves early against the Huskies throwing 2 INT's in the first half. Shapen was able to settle down midway through the first half when he would found a streaking Kelly Akharaiyi that would put the Bulldogs up 24-10 an a lead that they wouldn't give up the rest of the day
Although the Huskies would try to make a late push the Bulldogs were able to silent the Huskies with a late game sealing FF by linebacker John Lewis. This win helps the Bulldogs improve to 2-0 on the season as they will now turn their focus onto Wisconsin an their first road trip of the season up to Madison
