South Carolina head coach was seen verbally upset with his players after there season debut against other state popular North Carolina Tar Heels. Defense was the main factor in this weeks loss and we failed to force a single punt. Offense did have some sparks of future success besides the struggling offensive line. Arkansas transfer Raheim Sanders was able to get it going in the first half but struggled to generate numbers in the second half. Freshman standout and track star freak athlete Nyck Harbor showed signs that he may soon be the best wide receiver in the country by a landslide, catching 2 touchdowns and generating close to 100 receiving yards. Although it was a struggle this week our staff and coaches will continue to work hard to progess through the season. "We must look forward, and not hang our heads". Was one of our key phrases after the game in the locker room. Now on to face Kentucky in a very winnable game.

North Carolina got the year off to a solid start with a nice win over rival South Carolina. Junior running back Omarion Hampton was the star of the game tallying four touchdowns and over 150 yards rushing. Sophomore quarterback Conner Harrell was near perfect on the day with only one incompletion and a couple of touchdown passes which helped the North Carolina offense control time of possession and move the ball throughout the game. The defense helped start the game off on the right foot by forcing timely fumbles at the start of the game and at the start of the half. The offense capitalized and put South Carolina in catch-up mode most of the game. And catch up they almost did with a solid performance by their offense. The UNC coach commented after the game, "We caught some turnover breaks today, and our offense was able to capitalize early which is huge in any game. We'll see them again in Cup play, and I know it'll be a dogfight because that's a good team across the field. Glad to get an early win."
