The Blue Raiders of MTSU got back on track last week, exploding for over 500 yards of total offense in a win over visiting Charlotte.
MTSU was lead by standout senior RB Frank Peasant, who ran for a few TD's on the day and well into his career high of over 200 total purpose yards.
The defense also finally came to play early in the game, as they picked off 2 passes, one leading to a pick 6 for the Blue Raiders game breaking starting corner.
MTSU goes onto face its Rival, Western KY, next week at home to host the 100 miles of hate game and to open conference USA play. It is a big time game that coach Dietz swears the Raiders will be ready for, "we could lose every game but if we beat WKU, the season is saved, " coach Dietz stated after the game.
The metrodee era starts off at 0-2 with the 49ers dropping another close game but this time to the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee State.
“We couldn’t get it done when it mattered” said coach metro when asked about the teams performance amid another crushing close loss.
“Of course you’d like to win everyone but that’s not the case.”
When asked about the performance from the defense, coach had this to say.
“One thing I can guarantee we won’t have that poor performance again, any team that I coach is going to be scrappy and we’re going to make the offense work 500 yards of total offense is unacceptable and it will be corrected in practice.”
