Heartbreak Hotel

Chances. Memphis had plenty but as the final horn sounded they knew they had blown them all

Temple rallied with one of the best comebacks this season and claimed the AAC Championship

Memphis did anything they wanted throughout the game but 4 interceptions ( 2 returned for TDS ) and a user strip fumble that halted a promising Tigers drive proved to be the determining factor of tonight's contest

"Its a tough one to swallow" said Coach Red afterwards. " We executed our gameplan but didn't take care of the ball like we should . Temple made the plays when it mattered and the better team won the game. We will regroup and hopefully learn from this "

Excellent game Temple. Congrats and best of luck!

Temple Comes Thru When it Matters Most

Article By: Eljefebigrump

Temple looked good as Littelton scored a long touchdown to start the game and calm down the crowd but wouldn't touch the endzone for a while after. After, 2 long passes up the seam from Memphis, going for 2 touchdowns. Memphis was able to go onto a 14 point run before temple reached the endzone again on a pick six on a pass over the middle of the field. They gained a bit of momentum but were shut down after the running back of Memphis was able to drive down the field with the team on his back, scoring a touchdown before half for the Tigers. The third quarter was a battle of the defense as only 3 points were scored combined for both teams, make the score 24-14 Memphis up. When it mattered most, Temple drove down the field on a short pass broken off and ran into the endzone. Then a Memphis TD shut down all the momentum once again. The defense stepped up finally, for what seemed like the first time the whole game, and returned a pick six after a Littelton TD run to take the lead for the first time since the first quarter. The runningback of Memphis once again was able to do whatever he wanted to the Owls defense, like they were a wet tissue, and brought the Tigers close to the redzone. As the game got into one minute left, temple faked pressure and dropped back and intercepted Memphis for the 4th time in the game to seal it. Great game Memphis and good luck with the seasons to come!
