TCU and UNT squared off in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl. In what was a nearly perfect game for UNT was a disastrous nightmare for TCU and Josh Hoover. Hoover threw 5 interceptions, one for a touchdown. Coach Narcan is glad that game is behind him and he can now look at finding a landing spot for next season. TCU took a whoopin' and lost 45-17.
The OL blocking, receivers caught, the RBs had a pep in their step, and the defense reacted to an broke on the ball at most every opportunity. When your team plays like this it's just on the coaching staff to not screw it up. A turnover fueled 24 point 2nd quarter was the deciding factor, and from there the game was put into the hands of Price, Evans, and Ragsdale. All were effective toting the rock, and even QB Morris had a pair of rushing touchdowns while the outcome of was still in doubt, as part of a 281 rushing yard performance. The defensive plan of not letting the high flying TCU passing game hit the long ball payed off as well at could have, with the DB group collecting 5 picks, all by the FSs and SSs.
It was an often frustrating, but ultimately fulfilling trip down memory lane with my team from NDL season 1, and I'm glad I came back to Denton one more time.
GG NarcanMan, GL in the draft.
