SMU came into this game knowing that they would have to put a complete game together to get past Ohio State in this one. The offense would have to limit the turnovers and the defense would have to continue to play out of their minds and get some stops against the highly talented Buckeyes. Well guess what folks, that is just what happened.
The Mustang ground game would control the ball and keep it close making the Buckeye defense work and commit to stopping the run game. Both SMU QB's had big games with the starter having a huge run late in the half and the backup Jennings maybe having the throw of the game with a 55 yard TD strike in the 3rd Qtr. The Mustang defense continued to be the story of season in this one. The ideal bend but don't break attitude would allow the Mustangs the opportunity to get 2 INTs at the goal line that resulted in 95+ yard TD returns, both by player of the game McGill.
GG Seeitsaveit Very well played and great season. Don't work too hard this weekend.
