Despite a early fumble on the 2nd play of the game, the Spartans did not let it faze them. The Terps capitalized on the turnover, taking a 17-3 lead. But Michigan State refused to back down. Just before halftime, they managed to close the gap to a 4-point game, with the score standing at 17-13 in favor of Maryland.
