Week 4 of the football season had the Wildcats playing host to their new conference foe the Huskies from Washington.
Wildcats opened with a nice 10 play drive that ended with a quick four yard touchdown pass to Porter.
Washington waste no time and came right back with a 5 play drive to tie it up at 7.
Wildcats would move the ball but stahl just past mid field. Huskies would go 80 yards in 11 plays and punch it in from 3 yards out to grab the 14-7 lead.
Northwestern would keep fighting and put together a 12 play drive that would be capped off with a one yard run, by Himon, to tie the game up at 14 going into the half.
Washington would put together another drive and score as Jackson would recieve the quick flat and go in untouched from 20 yards out. 21-14
Northwestern would draw a roughing the passer penalty but after that be forced to punt from their own 44.. The Wildcat D would finally make a stop and forced a three and out getting the ball back for their offense at mid field.
The WIldcats would get stuffed on a third and 1 and coach Kelly decided to take the 38 yard field goal instead of going for it on 4th and 2 with a minute left in the third. "We just got a three and out, felt like we were figuring them out". Field goal was good to make it, 21-17.
Washington would convert a third and 4 as the middle of the field parted like Moses was there. The Huskies would not let it get to third down again as they scored to go up 28-17.
Northwestern kept fighting, taking their next possesion in with a 1 yard pounder from Porter but a failed 2pt conversion left the game at 28-23 with 3:20 left.
The Wildcat D would get some pressure and force a third and 11, but they would give up a 20 yard strike on the in route as yet again the middle was wide open. Washington would convert on one more 3rd and short to seal the game 28-23.
Good Game Dub, hell of an air attack. Best of luck the rest of the season.
