Despite coming into the game averaging 52 points per game, Texas Tech’s offense struggled to find its rhythm against the Bearcats. Quarterback Behren Morton faced relentless pressure throughout the game, resulting in three interceptions—one a particularly costly mistake in the back of the end zone that further compounded the team’s woes. Post-game, Coach AUChase expressed his disappointment in the team’s performance, suggesting that they may have overextended themselves with too many games in one day but also acknowledged that there’s no excuse for today’s performance. He emphasized the importance of regrouping and learning from this defeat as they prepare for their next challenge.
With a bye week on the horizon, Texas Tech will have time to reflect and regroup before heading to Waco to face #9 Baylor. The upcoming schedule features tough opponents, including TCU, #12 Iowa State, and #23 Colorado. Coach AUChase expects his team to rebound and meet the challenges ahead with renewed determination, as they seek to regain their footing in a competitive conference landscape.
