NDL: S30W6 - Oregon State (30) at Colorado State (35)

20-point 4th Qtr Not Enough for Beavs

Article By: UnTouchable8

Gevani McCoy threw for 294 yards and 2 TDs, the Oregon State defense forced 3 turnovers, and the offense scored 20 points in the 4th Quarter. But none of that was enough to give the Beavers their first win of the season as they fell short 35-30 to Colorado State late Tuesday night.

It was a back-and-forth affair in the 1st Quarter, as the two teams traded touchdowns. But the second quarter was all Colorado State, as they scored 14 unanswered to take a 21-7 lead into the half.

Oregon State responded with a field goal in the 3rd Quarter but the Rams found themselves on the move again and held a dominant 28-10 lead into the 4th.

That's when the Beavers turned on the jets. Oregon State scored quickly in the 4th to cut the lead to 28-16 after a missed extra point. After a turnover deep in their own territory, the Rams gave up another touchdown to see their lead dwindle to just 4 points with under 5 to go.

CSU responded with a quick TD to take a 35-23 lead with 3:53 to go. But OSU would come roaring back, with McCoy finding Jeremiah Noga onf a 26 yard dart to cut the lead to 35-30 with 2:25 remaining. After two quick stops, CSU's Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi threw his 3rd pick of the day at midfield. But time running out, McCoy threw a pick inside the redzone to seal the deal for the Rams.

GG to Coach Korben Dallas.

Rams hold on in a thriller

Article By: Korben_Dallas7

The Rams started the game with a great drive, mostly behind Running Back Kobe Johnson, scoring on their first possession of the game with an eight yard run into the Endzone.

After stopping the Beavers and getting the ball back Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi didn't see the safety over the middle for his first pick of the day which lead to the Beavers first score of the day behind a solid mix between run and pass by the Beaver offense ultimately culminating in a Ten Yard TD pass to Clemons to end the First tied at 7.

The Second quarter the Rams defense locked it down and the offense was humming. Slinging and pounding the rock up the field for a Kobe Receiving TD and later in the quarter a 57 yard dart from Fowler-Nicolosi to Dylan Goffery who took it to the house.

After a promising Beaver drive stalled out in the third with a Field Goal and then the two teams trading punts, the Rams wasted little time on a two play scoring drive with a 51 yard pass to Horton followed by a 17 yard TD run for stand out Kobe Johnson.

The Beavers started the 4th with the ball and did not let the moment get to big for them. Facing a 28-10 deficit the Beavers went to work.

Moving the ball down the field on their first possession methodically one chunk play at a time took about a minute and a half to score their first TD of the Quarter.

Not so reserved the Rams quickly threw another interception on their own 20 trying to go over the middle for Kobe. The Beavers returned the ball to the six and promply scored their second TD of the quarter. Bringing the once not so close game to 28-24 with 4:55 left to play.

With the game way too close Folwer-Nicolosi calmed down a bit and hit Horton and Brown II on back to back chunk plays for 35 and 31 to get down to the Beaver 9. After getting stuffed on first and second downs Folwer-Nicolosi found the TD machine Johnson again for a 7 yard TD on a screen pass.

That is when things got interesting, With 3:54 left in the 4th the Beavers went back to work. Quickly moving down the field and getting to the Rams 26 in 1:24 seconds scoring a TD on a 26 yard dime from McCoy to Noga.

The Rams were feeling good to start what they hoped would be the game ending drive. A quick 18 yard pass bringing the game to the 2 minute warning and that's where started to go down hill for the Rams. After a two yard rush by Johnson and an abysmal play call by coach Korben to run a Jet sweep lost 3 yards the Rams decided to pass the ball.

Folwer-Nicolosi dropped back and Brown II was wide open on a seam route but Folwer-Nicolosi must have been feeling the butter flies because he over shot his big TE and threw his third pick of the day and the Beavers had the Ball on their 49 yard line.

Not to be deterred the bend but don't break Rams D came onto the field and found themselves being driven against but the clock was ticking and they felt ok. That is until the Beavers hit a 14 yard pass play to get down to the Rams 22 yard line with 59 seconds left in the game and 1 timeout remaining.

After a Cheeky rushing attempt that only netted one yard it looked like McCoy was going to complete a pass down to the Rams nine when their Stud Safety Jack Howell came out of no where to seal the game with an interception.

Great Game Coach UnTouchable! I can't wait to do it again.
