Gophers nearly trip up Trojans

USC Holds Off Minnesota

Article By: TSTEPANEK

When your D forces eight turnovers you expect an easy night at the office, That was hardly the case when Minnesota traveled to LA to face the Trojans. The Gophers brought their own brand of D that forced five TO's of their own in dubbing this game "Turnover Fest 2024."

This was back and forth the entire game with Minnesota battling back anytime they found themselves down. With the score tied at 14's off a Trojan turnover UM gave it back in their own side of the field where WR Zach Branch caught his second TD pass of the game with 13 ticks left until the half. The TD gave USC a 21-14 halftime lead.

USC would score first in the third to make it 28-14 entering the fourth. The Gophers would reel off 14 straight to even things at 28's. UM would throw a pick six to go down 35-28 but still have a small shot with limited time left in the game. Alsa, the Gophers would throw a pick to close out a final push.

Fun game UNC! GL moving forward.

USC wins a close battle

USC gets by the Gophers

Minnesota went out West and came back empty handed. The game was filled with a lot of turnovers, 13 to be exact. Both defenses were playing the ball well and the offense kept having trouble. The game was a back and forth game with USC taking at 21-14 lead at the half. They stretched their lead to 28-14, only to see Minnesota come back and tie the game at 28. Minnesota was able to get a stop and then started to march down the field. A misread by Brosmer cost the Gophers the game as he threw his 6th interception for a pick 6.

Fun game! GL the rest of the way, USC!
