NDL: S30W7 - James Madison (45) at Coastal Carolina (20)

JMU offensive line opens some good running lanes for the JMU RB

JMU wins 45-20!!

Not sure where we found this game today but JMU ran well and outside of the first pass of the game was very efficient in the passing game. It started with a JMU pass being intercepted and returned for a TD. After that the JMU passer calmed down and handed it off to RB George Pettaway who found the endzone 4 times and rushed for 190 yards on 18 carries. The JMU defense chipped in getting a pick 6 of their own late in the game but more importantly keeping Coastal Carolina out of the endzone for most of the game, finally surrendering a TD late in the 4th quarter.

A pick 6 on the first play was hopefully a great omen for CCU. But that wasn't the case. Coastal Carolina struggled to stop the run and was also burned on the deep ball when committing to stop the run.

The chase to catch up led to costly turnovers despite the yards gained on offense. This has to change for victories to come.
