What a way to end the season! The “Battle of the Bricks” is always a game we circle on the calendar, and tonight, our team rose to the occasion with a commanding 35-20 victory over Miami (OH). This was a total team effort, and I couldn’t be prouder of our players and staff.
Offensively, we came out strong and executed our game plan with precision. We totaled 424 yards of offense, including 345 passing yards, led by Parker Navarro’s standout performance. Parker completed 11 of 16 passes for three touchdowns and zero interceptions, delivering big-time throws when we needed them most. His connection with C. Owen was electric, highlighted by a 99-yard touchdown that swung the momentum firmly in our favor. Owen finished with 187 receiving yards and two touchdowns, making explosive plays all night.
Our ground game added balance, finishing with 79 tough yards against a stout Miami defense. While the run game didn’t put up huge numbers, it helped keep the defense honest and set up our passing attack to shine.
Defensively, our guys played lights out. We held Miami to 192 rushing yards on 37 attempts, limiting their big-play ability. A. Brawley led the way with 10 total tackles, while M. Fleming made a game-changing interception, returning it 78 yards and setting up a key score. The pressure we applied throughout the game disrupted Miami’s rhythm and forced them into mistakes.
This victory is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our players, coaches, and support staff. Rivalry games like this are special, and to come out on top in such a meaningful matchup is a tremendous way to finish the season.
To our seniors, thank you for everything you’ve given to this program. Your leadership and commitment have set the tone for the future. To our fans, thank you for your incredible support—it was felt every step of the way.
The bricks stay with us. Go Bobcats!
