**Football Game Recap: San Jose State vs. Wyoming**
In a thrilling back-and-forth battle under the bright skies of Laramie, Wyoming, the Cowboys staged a dramatic comeback to edge out San Jose State 31-30 in a game that featured a wild final quarter.
The game began with San Jose State dominating the first half, taking a commanding 17-0 lead early. The Spartans struck first with a 6-yard touchdown run, followed by a 2-yard touchdown run to make it 14-0. A 32-yard field goal extended their lead to 17-0 with just under six minutes left in the second quarter.
However, Wyoming was not ready to fold. Quarterback Svoboda connected with wide receiver Gyllenborg on a 43-yard touchdown pass to get the Cowboys on the board, cutting the deficit to 17-7. Just as time was winding down in the first half, Wyoming managed to squeeze in a field goal as the clock expired, bringing the score to 17-10 at the break.
The third quarter was a defensive struggle, with both teams failing to score. But the game would come alive in the final 15 minutes, with a combined 36 points scored in an exhilarating finish.
Waylee started the fourth-quarter fireworks for Wyoming, rushing for a 4-yard touchdown to tie the game at 17-17. On the very next possession, San Jose State responded with a big play of their own: quarterback Eget threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Nash to reclaim the lead, 24-17.
But the Cowboys weren't finished. Wyoming answered with another touchdown of their own, with Waylee punching it in from 1 yard out to tie the game at 24-24. Then came the decisive moment. Wyoming's offense executed a perfect short-yardage play, converting a two-point attempt as Gyllenborg caught a critical pass to put the Cowboys ahead, 26-24.
With the lead in hand, the Cowboys' defense stepped up. San Jose State was driving and looking to regain the advantage, but Wyoming sealed the game with a timely interception, ensuring the 31-30 victory.
After the game, Wyoming head coach LiQ was asked about his decision to go for two following Waylee's touchdown. "Our guys were really, really confident that we could get open on the short play and that we had all the momentum on our side," LiQ said. "So I just had to trust them. We ask those guys to trust us every day, and today, it was time for me to trust them."
With the win, Wyoming improves to 6-3 on the season, while San Jose State falls to 5-4. It was a thrilling game that showcased both teams' resilience, but ultimately, it was the Cowboys who came out on top in a game full of dramatic twists and turns.
In what was a great game the Spartans fell short by one point in what was a back and forth affair.
The Spartans went up 17-0 led by walker eget and Floyd chalk leading the charge then in the second Wyoming got back in it cutting the lead to 7 at halftime .
Then the fireworks came after a scoreless 3rd the 4th quarter was a light show td after td after td Wyoming scored to make it 17-17 then nick nash gets in the end zone in back to back games now with a td to make it 24-17 then after Wyoming tied it up at 24 bates scored on a screen play to take the lead but then Wyoming had the perfect drive and went for 2 and found his WR in the back of the end zone the only turnover of the game happen the next drive to seal the loss.
This is the Spartans fourth straight loss after being 3-0 to start the season next up is the rivalry game between San Jose and Fresno state.
