The Washington Huskies defeated the Indiana Hoosiers 34-10 at home on a rainy day in Seattle.
The game started off with a quick score from the huskies - on the defensive side of the ball. CB Elijah Jackson was able to take an interception 57 yards for a score. This interception set the tone for the day, as the Huskies were able to pick of the Hoosiers on 7 different occasions this game. A pair of punts then led to another Hoosier interception, setting up the Huskies in good field position. The Huskies were able to capitalize on a 48 yard field goal from K Grady Gross.
The Hoosiers were then able to get breakaway play on the day, with a 74 yard TD run from Myles Prices, who made a great cutback to take it to the house. Neither offense was able to get going due the inclement weather. A 3rd interception on a pass airmailed by the Hoosiers starting QB led to his benching in the second. With time expiring before the half, Ephesians Prysock was able to get his first interception of the day and return it for a TD. The Huskies led 17-7 at half.
Out of the half, the huskies punted on their opening possession but were able to get the ball back with another interception. The Husky offense was finally able to find some momentum, scoring of a beautifully blocked 21 yard TD run for RB Jonah Coleman. The Hoosiers were able to find some rhythm on offense as well, scoring on a 39 yard field goal. On the ensuing drive, Will Rodgers was able to find freshman RB Jordan Washington in the flat for a 30 yard TD reception.
The Hoosiers down multiple scores were forced to throw the ball in the rainy conditions. Neither offense was able to gain much momentum, with the only score in the 4th being a 40 yard FG from K Grady Gross.
Indiana traveled across the states to face the Washington Huskies. Well several interceptions and a lack of defense turned the game into a Dog Fight with only one team bringing a dog. The lone bright spot for the Hoosiers was once again Myles Price. Price , a WR led the team in catches and also in rushing yards. Indiana QB’s would throw 7 interceptions, which 2 would be ran back for scores. Washington had a pick six on the first play of the game and the last play before the half. Hoosiers down 17-7 at the half and dominated the half.
The 2nd half the Hoosiers just gave up and was out scored 17-3 . Coach Ank said we will be a running team until we can find out how to stop completely killing ourselves with interceptions.
Great Games Dub. GL the rest of the way man.
