This was a really good game, both teams decided to control the clock and San Jose did it a little better than Fresno. It came down to the wire and the better team won this one, Fresno continues to be competitive and that is all u can ask,
Coach Vic heads into his first actual rivalry game with the San Jose Spartans against Fresno State in the Valley Cup.
In a back and forth contest where the both ground games controlled the pace San Jose got the scoring started with a field goal to make it 3-0 after the 1st. Then the two teams went back and forth where Fresno hit a fg, then chalk with a td, the Fresno with a td, then with just 53 seconds left San Jose drove about 50 yards to set up another fg to make 13-10 at the half.
The score would stay that way until late in the 3rd fresnos ground game was very consistent and scored from 2 yards out. In the fourth coach Vic huddled the whole team and was caught by a hot mic saying “let’s f$&%#*g go right now yall know we built for this s$%t”, and the team responded scoring the last 10 points of the game and holding Fresno to zero points in the fourth. The stars of the game were of course smash and dash (chalk and bates) with a combine 168 yards on 26 touches and let’s not forget the defense with Jordan pollard with 12 tackles Isiah revis with 10 tackles Mike dansby caused the only turnover with a interception and Robert (rocket) Rahimi with 8 tackles and 4 pass deflections.
Next up for Coach Vic and the Spartans are the Oregon state beavers and the menace himself Aston jenenty and the Boise state broncos
