ACC showdown goes the way of the Cardinals with a late JaCorey Brooks touchdown from Tyler Shough for the winning score, 24-21.
It was a battle of the defenses for most of the game as both teams would refuse to give up the big running play on the ground.
A game of long drives would lead to most of the scoring on the day. Clemson jumped out on top after an interception led to the first score of the game 7-0.
Tyler Shough would find tight end Mark Redman for 74 yards. 7-7
Clemson would get a huge 4th down stop inside the 20 and takeover the ball. Put together a great drive to recapture the lead 21-17 with 1:20 or so temaining.
The Cardinals would put it all on the line and drove inside the 40 with 25 seconds remaing. That is when on 4th & 2 Shough would find Jacorey Brooks breaking open for the game winner, 24-21
“This was a gut check game for us today. We know that is a very good team who needed this game as well, so we were both motivated to come away with this game today. We were fortunate to hold this one and get a win. Props to Coach Ry having his guys ready to play today! He is a NDL great for sure!” Coach Dray after the game.
