Central Michigan remained perfect in MACtion with a 44-14 win over the Toledo Rockets today in Mount Pleasant. The Chippewas defense carried most of the weight in this victory as they caught an incredible nine interceptions by nine different players in the win. Although probably half of them came while coach Wasik was trying to force the ball down the field due to being behind, it was still an impressive feat nonetheless as CMU's own QB, Bert Emmanuel, only completed seven passes of his own. The team did not do much on offense but were able to do just enough to capitalize on the incredible field position that they were gifted time and time again.
Coach FiredUpChip had the following to say "Wow! I cannot take the boys on the defense end enough for the work they put in today to make sure that we came away with an impressive W against a talented Toledo team. I'm really glad that we have been continuing to take care of business in our conference play and hopefully get to play in Detroit when this year is over."
This was a great win for the Chippewas as they only have three games remaining on what has been one of the toughest schedules in the country. Fire Up Chips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
