Iowa came out super focused to stop the run game of Maryland, and that strategy proved fruitful in the 1st qtr as the Hawkeyes were able to get a couple of stops and jump out to a 14-0 lead.
Maryland Coach Brady made the adjustment and would pass for over 200 yards the rest of the way, and score 3 times in the 2nd qtr. Iowa would enter halftime tied 21-21.
The second half was a close back and forth affair with each team forcing a couple of turnovers. Kicker Drew Stevens would kick a a 47yd fg with 3 min left to put Iowa up 10.
The Terps wouldn't go away, scoring quickly and forcing another turnover. Up only 3 points and on defense, the Hawkeyes would receive a season saving play from Safety Quinn Schulte who would get an int and take it 43 yards to the house to put the game away.
GG brady and thanks for battling through the lag without making excuses.
