In one of the most important games left on the schedule, Georgia traveled to Atlanta to face off against the Rambling Wreck of Ga Tech. In the good ole fashion hate match up the bulldogs came out the gate with 7 but would find the game tied at the end of the quarter. Tech's defense played solid the first half causing 5 turnovers to help take the lead, but UGA fought hard to come back and tie the game at the half 21-21. The second half the Bulldogs defense showed signs of life at times starting to create more turnovers but it was still a back and forth battle. It was a pick 6 on a RPO play where SS Malik Starks jumps the route and takes it in to push the Bulldogs lead out. After that it was playing containment and control and another pick 6 in the endzone would seal the deal for Georgia. "We remembered the loss we faced at the hand of Ga Tech last season and worked to not repeat it. We made a lot of mistakes this game and luckily we were able to recover and create some mistakes of our own. That QB was a nightmare as our defense would be solid and have everyone accounted for but him. Our players have to get better at play recognition and reacting to the ball carrier quicker. We have to be better if we want to continue this season." said Coach Cane after the game.
The Yellow Jackets come into a must-win rivalry game and ultimately hang in the game with the lead the majority of the game. However, as continued all season, the offense turns the ball over throwing a pick six in the most crucial time in the fourth quarter and the Bulldogs go on to win the game.
