Arky Tops Missouri in Season Finale

Article By: texasfan4444

The Arkansas Razorbacks closed out their season in style, defeating the Missouri Tigers 35-17 in a game marked by offensive explosiveness and defensive dominance.

Missouri struck first late in the first quarter, with quarterback Brady Cook connecting on a 54-yard touchdown pass to Luther Burden III at the 5:25 mark. However, Arkansas quickly responded, as quarterback Taylen Green led a methodical drive capped by a 1-yard rushing touchdown with just three minutes remaining in the quarter, evening the score at 7-7.

The Razorbacks carried that momentum into the second quarter, where Green found Luke Hasz for a 1-yard touchdown pass with 3:45 left. Missouri answered with a 41-yard field goal to cut the lead to 14-10, and Marcus Carroll’s 15-yard touchdown run just before halftime momentarily gave the Tigers a 17-14 lead. Yet Arkansas surged ahead before the break, with Green hitting Jordan Anthony for a 41-yard touchdown, sending the Razorbacks into halftime up 21-17.

In the second half, Arkansas dominated on both sides of the ball. Green connected with Isaiah Sategna on a 45-yard touchdown pass midway through the third quarter and later found Anthony again for a stunning 71-yard score as time expired in the period. Meanwhile, the Razorback defense clamped down, forcing five interceptions from Cook in what became an uncharacteristically poor performance for the Tigers’ quarterback.

The Razorbacks’ relentless defense held Missouri scoreless in the second half, securing the 35-17 victory. The Tigers finish the season at 7-5, a respectable record for a team that wasn’t a championship contender but showed flashes of potential throughout the year.

For Arkansas, the win provides a strong conclusion to the season, with fans now speculating whether head coach Sam Pittman will stay with the program or consider other opportunities. Either way, the Razorbacks showcased their ability to rise to the occasion in a rivalry matchup, leaving both teams with plenty to ponder as they head into the offseason.
