In a stunning upset, #2 Kansas handed undefeated #1 Baylor their first loss of the season with a convincing 37-21 victory. Throughout the game, Kansas showcased their dominance, maintaining a comfortable lead for the majority of the match. The Jayhawks' ground game stood out, accumulating an impressive 277 rushing yards, overpowering Baylor's defense. Defensively, Kansas proved formidable, forcing two interceptions and stifling Baylor's rushing attack to a mere 53 yards. With this significant win, Kansas wraps up the season with an impressive 11-1 record, positioning themselves in a three-way tie for the Big 12 Championship game, showcasing their prowess and determination on the field.
After a relatively long time between block 6 and Block 7 getting played, The Baylor Bears we off to their second game in as many days to take on the defending champs, Kansas Jayhawks.
Classic #1 vs #2 showdown as two likely CFP participants battled for a spot in the Big12 Championship.
Kansas got the ball first, and did what they have done all year and moved it methodically down the field utilizing Neal and Daniels converting on multiple 3rd downs to take the quick 7-0 lead. Despite entering midfield area, the Bears were forced to punt. Thankfully they were able to get the stop they needed and were able to tie the game up at 7-7.
After holding the Jayhawks to a fG, the bears took the field looking to take their first lead of the day, and with the exact look they wanted to the wide side of the field, Ketron Jackson inexplicably ran a post route into the shaded inside defender leaving his QB clueless and leading to an interception>
Kansas was able to finish the deal with a nice corner pass to the big TE to go up 17-7. On 3rd and 2 just under the 2 min warning, again the bears were looking to make some noise, but again, for some odd ass reason we miss an easy first down throw by 5 yards, and KU gets the ball back.
KU goes on to score a fg before the half, and now have a commanding 2 score lead @ 20-7, and the Bears seem lost.
The 2nd half was no better, as Kansas simply played to their strengths and the Baylor had no answers for much of anything.
Kansas tacks on a late fg to win 37-21 .
