Defensive Meltdown

Article By: Block M

NEW ORLEANS, LA -- The SMU defense looked stellar in the first half against the Tulane Green Wave.

The Mustangs forced a pick six and with the addition of two Collin Rogers field goals led 13-0 heading into halftime.

The second half was another story however.

Tulane gashed SMU as if the first half never occurred and suddenly the offensive struggles from SMU were very apparent as SMU fell behind and were unable to catch up on three interceptions thrown combined by QB Kevin Jennings and Preston Stone.

When SMU needed a stop they would get it with their second interception of the game trailing by just five late in the game, however an illegal contact penalty would call it back. Tulane would later score and ice the game.
