The opening drive went well, as the Longhorns mounted a steady drive that resulted in a touchdown. The Longhorn bus would sputter a few times however and the Coastal Carolina defense would limit the running and passing game of Texas. Turnovers would once again prove to be the difference as the Longhorns would cause two fumbles and get three INT's one of which would go for a late TD. Coach Steamrollr22 is pleased to come out with the win in game one but knows his team has to start playing better in order to make it to where they want to go this season.
The Longhorns came to visit the east coast this weekend and walked away with a dominant victory. From the very first drive, UT drove the ball down the field effortlessly. A combined array of run and pass caused the Coastal defense to be on skates all game. The Coastal offense looked just as lost, throwing 3 costly interceptions in the game from the arm of Ethan Vasko. The Chants started to get some traction in the second half however, and scored twice. One reception from Xakery Wiedner specifically caught the attention of the crowd. Overall, this was a butt kicking at the end of the day. Coach Mason had this to say.."There were some good things done out there by our guys against a very talented team. We need to go back to the drawing board and fine tune some things and just flat-out erase others. Gotta be better to win games in this league".
The Chants will stay at home next week to prepare for red-hot Duke to visit in week 3. GG coach Steamroller and good luck this season!
