Illinois dropped its 4th straight today to Oklahoma who rushed for 184 yards on the ground plus a score.
Illinois made costly turnovers today as they were not able to secure their first victory. Illinois had the ball at the beginning of the 4th quarter down 3 at their own 40 when Luke Altmeyer threw a costly pick 6 to OU and Illinois was unable to recover from that point.
Aidan Laughery and Kadin Feagin combined for 207 yards in the ground including 137 yards and a TD from Feagin.
It proved to not be enough as Illinois for the 4th straight game seems unable to stop the rush. Things look to turn around on their 1st road game this year next week with rival Purdue.
Oklahoma Pulls away late for their first win of the season in the road game vs the Illini. The game started close, both teams trading a TD in the first quarter. Oklahoma was able to score on an 81 yard run on the first play from scrimmage for Gavin Sawchuck. Both teams added a TD in the 2nd quarter, but Oklahoma also made a FG to enter the half with the lead.
The 3rd quarter was close with both teams trading FGs, but the Sooners were able to pull away late with a 50 yard pick 6 and a FG for good measure as they escape Illinois with their first win of the season. A great game, and Oklahoma looks to steer their ship back on course the rest of the season
