In a battle between two long time NDL'rs Air Force was first to strike after a 12 play drive and a 7 yard score from first time ball carrier Kade Frew from 7 yards out. Air Force's defense would pester the Tigers offense all game long and they allowed only a FG in the first half as it came from 21 yards out to bring the score to 7-3. Air Force defense would do what the offense couldn't do again and that was find the end zone as Kyle Chen took the only Clemson turnover on the game back 29 yards to take a 14-3 half time lead.
With the Falcons getting the ball to start the second half, you'd figure they could take control of the game, but they didn't combine with a poor passing game and an idiotic fumble the Tigers climbed back into it as they would have a 48 yard interception to the house and get stopped on the 2 point conversion to get to 14-9. In the 4th quarter, after another USAFA turnover, Klubnik would drop back, find no one open and he would take it on the ground from 23 yards out, the two point conversion was good and the Tigers went up 17-14. Air Force would try again, but quickly release that the triple option isn't a come back type of offense and they would give the ball back. With 42 seconds left in the game and USAFA out of time outs, Clemson would run in the ball from 11 yards out to achieve the final score of 14-24 and this round of the BigRy/ICE game. USAFA was able to keep this match up much closer than last year when ICE was at NC State, but Ry moves to 2-0 against ICE in the revamped NDL. GG Ry and GL
The Clemson Tigers had their season on the line early in the season. The offense was unable to find a spark for much of the game. Meanwhile, the defense gave up fourteen points in the first half as the halftime score was 14-3, Zoomies.
The second half could have been doom for the Clemson Tigers. Fortunately, there are three parts that make up a football team and the defense was able to claw the Tigers back into the game. A pick six finally gave Clemson a spark but a failed 2 point try zapped a little momentum. However the defense continued to cause problems for Air Force eventually turning them over multiple times in the second half.
Klubnik was able to score the first touchdown for Clemson was a 21 yard scramble. He was able to just reach over the line to convert a two point try. Mafah would add a late touchdown to ensure a victory.
