In a thrilling showdown on Saturday, Wyoming football suffered a devastating loss to USC, falling 66-63 in overtime after relinquishing a commanding 28-point lead.

The Cowboys started strong, showcasing a powerful offense and a determined defense. They built a remarkable 28-point advantage, leaving fans optimistic for a decisive victory. However, USC rallied, gradually closing the gap and forcing the game into overtime.

In the extra period, both teams exchanged blows, but ultimately, USC's resilience paid off. USC picked off Wyoming to start the overtime and was able to kick a FG to seal the deal. The final score of 66-63 not only marks a tough defeat for Wyoming but also drops their season record to 2-1.

Despite the loss, Wyoming showed flashes of brilliance, and their ability to compete against a top-tier opponent will serve as a learning experience as they look to rebound in their upcoming games. The Cowboys will need to regroup quickly to build on their early-season promise.

Article By: TSTEPANEK

LA - It took a hot minute for the La Memorial Coliseum to get crazy. The Cowboys of Wyoming came into town and seemed unstoppable through three quarters. The game started as an old fashion shootout. The game was tied at 21's in the second quarter before a Evan Svoboda 68 yard TD pass to Devin Brodie made it 28-21.

No problem, Trojans go and score and tie it - pick six by Cowboy defender Keany Parks (51 yards). A punt by USC and another long strike from Svobada (68 yards) to Harrison Waylee made the lead jump to 21 at 42-21. SC WR Zach Branch would add a much needed 62 yard TD with 28 seconds left in the half to cut the lead to 412-28 at the break.

In the second half the offenses did slow but not by much. Each team would put up 14 in the third but the Cowboys got the first 14 extending the lead to 56-28. Coach TStep fired up his boys and the Trojans ripped off the next 28 points in the third and fourth to tie. Time was running low and thhe Cowboys scored with 1:56 left to make it 63-56. USC would march 75 yards and tie it up with 11 seconds remaining on a two yard TD run by Woody Marks. Off to OT we go.

The Cowboys got the ball first but on third and goal after a sack Svoboda would throw a pick. The Trojans would run three straight times and kick the game winning FG.
