Friends for nearly a decade, Coach County welcomed his long-time amigo Addilopes and the NIU Huskies into the Swamp knowing that his friend would bring his A-Game.
The Gators and Huskies went back and forth on offense with neither team interested in stopping the other. Turnovers were the story as the only reprieve from the constant offense was NIU QB Jalen Macon throwing 4 INTs on the day.
The Gators racked up 738 yards of offense with 298 coming by foot and 440 by air. DJ Lagway continued his quest to insert himself into Heisman contention and Star RB Montrell Johnson had his best day of the season posting 182 yards and 3 TDs on 17 carries. There has been talks that Lahway is starting to connect with additional members of the offense as his first few games were dominated by Boardingham and Wilson receptions. Today was a different story as WR Elijah Badger and Freshman TE Amir Jackson racked up a combined 13 catches for 280 yards.
When asked about facing his friend, Coach County stated, It's always an honor when you're lined up against someone you have a lot of history with. That guy and I have been through the trenches together. We've shared drinks, we've shared meals, we've shared women. We hit bets and we smash skanks, it's just what we do. Coach County then looked at the camera, winked, and said say I love you guys... before dropping the mic.
Florida has a bye week in week 6 before welcoming the rival and ranked Tennessee Volunteers to the Swamp Week 7.
