New Mexico state just couldn't keep up with the Bulldogs.

NMSU was able to march down on the first drive with a 7 yd screen pass to rb Monte Watkins from new QB Parker Awad but special teams missed the easy extra. Then the Bulldog's rb Malik Sherrod returned the favor with a 75yd td run and also a 3 yd td run to end the 1st qtr.

This was a tight contest through out the game. In a nut shell the run defenses stayed at the hotel for both teams. Malik Sherrod had a huge game rushing for 5 tds and over 300yds. Did not realize how good a game he was having until half time. He sat out most of the second half. Fresno could not stop Monte Watkins who had 192 yds and a TD for NMSU. This was a typical clash of old guys who have been around a long time in the NDL, Fresno prevailed 37-25, but not with out a fight from Oldschoola. Great game as usual....GL to NMSU going forward.
