Colorado State didn't know what it's season was going to look like, taking on a lot of very talented coaches in their non conference games this season. And boy did game one of the Rams Season 30 not disappoint.
The game started off with both teams missing their first field goals and exchanging turnovers, a pick by the Rams Jack Howell followed up by a Forced Fumble and recovery by the Arizona defense.
With time winding down in the first the Rams hit a massive 51 yard pass play off of play action to take a early 7-0 lead.
Unfortunately for coach TeeWade the second quarter started with his own fumble by stud TE Burnet who got absolutely crushed over the middle by Star Safety Jack Howell. After recovering that fumble the Rams wasted little time getting into Field Goal range and taking a 10-0 lead.
Both teams would later score a TD each to finish the First half Rams 17-Arizona 10.
The Third quarter is one the Wildcats wish they could have back. A lot of big plays given up on defense and a couple interceptions on offense had them staring down the barrel of a 22-45 score going into the fourth quarter.
Undeterred the Wildcats came storming back behind a great rushing performance by their Senior RB Conley got the Wildcats within one score and were driving to win the game with a 1:23 left and on the 6 yard line looking to get the game tied up. But the Rams Blackburn not wanting to be denied a game one win sealed the game with a interception in the endzone.
It was a great game to coach! I am sure there will be big things happening down in Arizona this season!
Thank you for the great game TeeWade! Good Luck the rest of the season!
