Rams outlast Flames

Article By: Korben_Dallas7

After having two very touch matchups back to back the Rams got back to basics against the Liberty.

Kobe Johnson lead the Way with 175 rushing yards and 3 Touchdowns.

It started early with a big first half run for a TD and never really slowed down.

The Rams hit on a lot of clutch plays down the stretch when the Flames came surging back in the 4th. None bigger than a big comeback route from Horton to get the game sealing first down.

Great Game Coach PhoneyBage1! Good luck the rest of the season.

Another heartbreaker for Liberty

Fort Collins, CO – Liberty University’s football team walked into Fort Collins looking to not fall under .500 on the season, Colorado State looking to come away with a win to continue on a successful season.

First Half: Hard fought battle

Liberty came out firing early in the first half, showing why they are one of the top teams in the conference. Quarterback Kaidon Salter struggled at times but had some big plays throughout the game. The Flames was led by the ground game when Quinton Cooley found the endzone on the opening drive to give Liberty an early lead. Colorado State slow and methodical offense helped them secure their first points of the game late in the first quarter, when quarterback, Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi found Armani Winfield for a touchdown to tie the game up at 7.

with both defenses showing grit and determination and making it hard for both offenses to move the ball, it looked like this was going to come down to a crucial mistake that would change the game. Thats when the Rams defense forced an interception midway through the second quarter and the Rams offense capitalized on the turnover when Kobe Johnson found a gap and took off for 42-yds for a touchdown. with time ticking down in the half Kaidon Salter led the Flames down the field and tied the game back up with a 11-yd Quarterback keeper going into halftime.

Rams pull through in the Second Half

Being tied at the half at 14, Both teams looked to come out with some sort of answers on offense. Colorado State was the team that found the answers first but that didn't come until early in the fourth quarter when they had the Flames defense on the ropes. The rams run game, led by Kobe Johnson, helped them put a stamp on this game with 2 late rushing touchdowns by Johnson. Kaidon Salter tried to battle back late with a touchdown pass under 2 minutes to go, but it wasn't enough to beat the Rams.

Final Score: Liberty 21, Colorado State 28

The Flames fall under .500 and need to find the problems before it gets to late in the season. They host LSU Tigers next week and hoping to find the biggest win of their program.
